Follow safety procedures, observe safe working practices, and maintain a safe working environment.
Troubleshoot complicated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch, variable speed wind turbines.
Perform all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance, repair, and replacement to correct malfunctions.
Read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Use electrical test equipment to assist in troubleshooting and testing.
Work a flexible on call schedule when needed. This may include weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum one (2) year technical wind industry experience, OR six (6) months technical wind industry experience and a certificate of completion from a Wind Technician program, OR in absence of technical wind industry experience, minimum three (3) years' experience working with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical skills and composite skills.
Demonstrated use and understanding of intermediate level power tools such as hydraulic, power torque and diagnostic tools (e.g. fluke meter functions and hydraulic stress gauge)
Ability to demonstrate intermediate working knowledge of industrial safety practices / protocols (e.g. Confined Space, energy isolation)
Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a Passport.
