Retail Insights Analyst

The Retail Insights Analyst is responsible for providing analytics and insights support for retail channel, category and item-level data needs, primarily leveraging syndicated data sources. This role focuses on understanding consumer behavior, market trends, sales performance, and inventory patterns to optimize retail operations and strategy. The analyst works closely with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, and operations, to identify opportunities for growth, improve customer experience, and enhance product offerings.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Fact-Based Sales Support
Integrate information from many data sources and develop actionable insights and recommendations to support customer initiatives. This work includes, but is not limited to, new product introductions, pricing analyses, seasonal reviews and programs, promotional planning, category planning, and evaluation.

Category Analyses, Insights, Reporting
Assist the team with fact-based reporting and recommendations based on category and consumer trends using both quantitative and qualitative syndicated research. Use data visualization tools to strengthen business recommendations and create efficiencies in deliverables through process development using programming languages and various software platforms. Drive insights to action through deep analytics of the category, macro-trends, competitive landscape, pricing, promotion, assortment, and shopper trends.

Collaborative Cross-Training & Development
Work with manager and team to cross-train in all areas of analytics; take on projects across verticals as needed, including but not limited to reporting, data visualization development/maintenance, storytelling presentations, SKU/brand rationalizations, process development, and standard reviews.

Continuous Improvement
Continuously improve capabilities and processes to support the team in driving superior results.

- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level:
- (Required): Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Math, Business, or Comparable Field of Study

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Well-organized and strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication skills (written and oral) and strong interpersonal skills
Microsoft Office Experience: Mastery of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Syndicated Data Knowledge: Foundational IRI, Nielsen, and other relevant platforms preferred
Commitment to meeting or exceeding customer expectations
Work collaboratively with others toward common business objectives, demonstrate respect for the ideas and contributions of other team members, cultivate positive relationships with other associates, and aid and support others
Strong organizational & time management skills
Strong sense of personal responsibility and initiative; must be able to work autonomously or in advance of other teams joining/supporting
Ability to work independently to pull data and run/maintain existing reporting procedures and workflows
Assist in running scripts to aid in web scraping
Once trained, help develop workflows to process data for reporting needs

Preferred Technical Skills (at least 1 strongly encouraged):
Data visualization (Tableau, Power BI)
Python or other Programming Language
RPA Experience (Alteryx, Power Automate, UiPath)
Reporting/Scorecarding Template Building
Advanced Excel (including high-level formulas, pivots, and visuals)
