Site Manager - Travel Center Operations

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to inspire a high-performing team of managers, cashiers, and support staff while driving operational excellence and exceptional customer experiences at our location in Hutchinson, KS. This position will oversee the entire operation of fuel sales, c-store, and restaurant.

Your Impact

  1. Drive operational efficiency and profitability across a multi-million-dollar travel center / truck stop running 24/7/365
  2. Build and develop a dynamic store management team that delivers outstanding customer experiences and operational results
  3. Lead initiatives to optimize performance metrics, increase revenue, minimize expenditures, and enhance operational efficiency
  4. Build and maintain strategic vendor relationships to enhance store offerings and rewards program, negotiating partnerships that drive customer loyalty
  5. Champion a culture of exceptional service that ensures every traveler leaves better than they arrived

Core Responsibilities

  1. Drive daily operations through hands-on leadership, including:
    1. Proactively troubleshooting operational challenges
    2. Creating and optimizing team schedules based on business needs
    3. Filling shifts when needed to ensure continuous operations
    4. Maintaining exceptional facility standards and cleanliness
    5. Observing and evaluating employee performance against key metrics
  2. Manage financial and operational performance:
    1. Drive profitability through effective cost management
    2. Oversee inventory control and vendor relationships
    3. Process and manage invoices, pricing, and daily paperwork
    4. Partner with pricebook team to ensure accurate pricing
    5. Protect company assets and maintain compliance with policies
  3. Lead team development and culture:
    1. Build and maintain a professional, high-performing team
    2. Implement comprehensive training programs for all new hires
    3. Foster ongoing skill development and growth opportunities
    4. Maintain positive working relationships across all levels
    5. Document and address performance concerns appropriately
  4. Oversee vendor and inventory management:
    1. Build strategic vendor partnerships to enhance rewards programs
    2. Manage delivery functions and invoice processing
    3. Maintain organized inventory systems including walk-in coolers
    4. Ensure proper stock levels and rotation
    5. Stay informed of product movements and trends
  5. Drive community and customer engagement:
    1. Establish positive community relationships
    2. Create and maintain a welcoming environment
    3. Ensure exceptional customer service standards
    4. Build local partnerships to support store success
    5. Address customer feedback and concerns promptly

Job Requirements

  1. Proven track record of leadership success, preferably 3+ years managing c-store or travel center operations
  2. Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to analyze P&Ls and drive profitable growth
  3. Excellence in team development, with a passion for mentoring future leaders
  4. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  5. Experience with Microsoft Office suite and POS systems
  6. Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  7. High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

Physical Requirements
